Bearded Badger Publishing Co. was born in 2020... and somehow has managed to survive a pandemic (whose idea was it to launch a small press in the middle of an international pandemic???)​ before going on to open a small shop in the Derbyshire market town of Belper.

Unfortunately, despite all our efforts, we just couldn't make it work. I still maintain it was the right shop, at the wrong time and arguably in the wrong location (the shopping arcade we used to be situated in is a poor shadow of itself these days).

In truth - this hit harder than I imagined it would... and Bearded Badger was mothballed for a couple of years whilst I (Paul) moved back into the corporate world to earn a living.

Fast forward to 2025 and WE ARE BACK. We plan to run a series of pop-up events and will reopen for submissions in autumn for our 2026 publishing programme!
